RSVP is a national program, part of the Senior Service Corps of The Corporation for National Service. RSVP creates meaningful volunteer opportunities for individuals age 55 years or older in order to encourage older adults to participate fully in their communities and to meet the needs of non-profit and community organizations throughout the county. Volunteer program for older adults, 55+. If interested in volunteer work or if there is a need for volunteers, RSVP will coordinate a community placement. PEAL (Phone Elderly to Alleviate Loneliness) - Daily phone calls to homebound elderly adults. Tax– Aide RSVP February 1 - April 15. Free help preparing basic tax forms. Assistance by trained and certified volunteers. Bring all W-2’s income statements, detail on deductions, last year’s return and property tax data. Locations determined on an annual basis. Learning Institute for Elders. Money Management Program - Organize mail. Low-income elderly and vulnerable persons with disabilities who have budgeting and bill paying problems may qualify to receive assistance with these tasks. Residential Maintenance Services are provided to seniors, age 60 and over, whom are homeowners residing in their own home in Middlesex County. The emphasis of this program is to provide a healthy, safe and secure home to older individuals who can no longer manage themselves. Recruits volunteers age 55 and older and assigns/matches them to provide volunteer services in the community. Healthy Bones, Mr. Fixit Program, Chore Services. Opportunities to tutor/mentor the youth in the community, Weekend Telephone Reassurance Program, Friendly Visits. The State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) provides free help to New Jersey Medicare beneficiaries who have problems with, or questions about their health insurance. SHIP is a statewide program sponsored by the New Jersey Division of Aging Services with major funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
