Empowered Conversations for End of Life Issues 

This free full-day training (9am - 4pm) being offered in June will provide learners with strategies for assisting consumers to navigate end of life issues. Several locations are available to choose from. Topics include:  initiating conversations, use of tools in the field, and different forms of grief associated with end of life issues. CEUs are available for Certified Counselors, Social Workers (5.75 GCE hours), and Nurses (5.75 Contact Hours)

NJ Human Services: One-Stop, Online Application for Older New Jerseyans to Access Benefits

Older New Jerseyans are now just one click away from important benefits and savings.

The Department of Human Services’ (DHS) Division of Aging Services has launched NJSave, an online application to help older residents with low-incomes and individuals with disabilities save money on Medicare premiums, prescription costs, and other living expenses. Use this application for:

Pharmaceutical Assistance to the Aged and Disabled (PAAD)
Hearing Aid Assistance to the Aged and Disabled (HAAAD)
Lifeline Utility Assistance
Medicare Savings Programs
Medicare Part D’s Low Income Subsidy (LIS, also known as “Extra Help”)
Senior Gold Prescription Discount Program
Universal Service Fund (USF)
Low-Income Heating and Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
