The education resource center, located across from Lourdes Medical Center of Burlington County in the Professional East Building, provides access to information related to all types of cancer. Patients have access to hardcopy information and the ability to view DVDs, tapes, or access the Internet. Kiosk. You can use the ACS Cancer information Kiosk to access a full array of information about every type of cancer, treatment options, resources, statistics and more. Speakers Bureau - This free service is designed to give the community a broader knowledge of health care issues and provide interesting, educational, and informative health-related programs. The Caring Boutique is a service offered in conjunction with American Cancer Society, and is available to all women in the community. The Boutique offers a variety of items including: free wigs and permanent prosthesis to those in need, free temporary prosthesis, pillows to use with seatbelts and prosthesis bras. Look Good Feel Better Program - The program was founded by the Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association (CTFA) Foundation and is offered in partnership with the ACS and the National Cosmetology Association. Licensed volunteer cosmetologists who are certified in the program teach women how to enhance their appearance using makeup techniques and how to disguise hair loss using wigs, turbans, and scarves. Each woman receives make-up donated by CTFA cosmetic industry and samples to take home. The SpeakEasy Breast Cancer Support Group offers participants an opportunity to connect in a safe and open atmosphere. The group meet monthly on the 1st Tuesday of the month from 7p.m.-9pm. This free public service program helps women undergoing cancer treatment learn to cope with appearance–related side effects of treatment and regain a sense of self-confidence and control over their lives.
