Retirement Community - A continuing care retirement community (CCRC) provides housing, services and health care (including long-term care) to people of retirement age. The community must provide increasing levels of care beginning with independent living. CCRCs offer a contract that is signed when the person first enters the community. The type of services provided depends upon this contract. There is generally a substantial entrance fee. Monthly fees are also charged. CCRCs are regulated by the NJ Department of Community Affairs. The nursing home facilities are licensed by the NJ Department of Health. Long Term Facilities provides 24 hour medical care and supervision.
