Ocean Ride Bus Route Service operates 11 bus routes. The County agency provides a variety of transportation services including fixed bus routes, shopper’s specials and the Reserve-A-Ride program, which includes the Next Day Trip option. Service generally operates on weekdays, no service provided on County holidays. Eligibility criteria varies according to program. Ocean Ride provides non-emergency, door-to-door transportation service to seniors and adults with disabilities primarily to medical appointments on an advance reservation basis to destinations within Ocean County. You may call Ocean Ride from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm to make your trip reservation four (4) weeks prior to the date of your appointment on the Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. Fares vary. Discounts are offered to NJ PAAD participants. Riders are billed by mail, the month after service, there is No cash collection on-board. Call 732-736-8989 than press 1 to speak to a Reservationist. Cancellation Hotline Number - If your plans change, please remember to call our office to cancel. By doing so, we may provide a ride to another resident. When calling after normal business hours, please use our 24–Hour Cancellation Hotline, simply call 732-736-8989 then press * 100 (Speak slowly and clearly, state your name, date of trip being cancelled and home telephone number). Ocean Ride will accommodate a limited number of next day bus trips based on our system availability. To be placed on our waiting list, call the main number 732-736-8989 than press 1 to speak with a Reservationist the day before the trip. This is not a guaranteed trip. If we can accommodate your trip, you will be notified between 7:00 a.m. 7:30 a.m. the morning of the trip. This type of service is best suited for shopping and other trip purposes that are flexible and do not require a specific appointment or time schedule. Ocean Ride provides regularly scheduled transportation services for Ocean County veterans to various out-of-county VA facilities including Veterans Medical Center, East Orange, Lyons Veterans Medical Center, Veterans Administration Hospital, Philadelphia, Fort Dix Veterans Clinic and James J.
