Manages six high-rises for senior citizens and handicapped persons Rent Subsidies-Section 8 H.U.D. - Paterson. Rental assistance available to residents who meet income eligibility requirements and whose landlords are willing to sign a lease with a housing authority or agency. Persons who have been approved for a rent subsidy, pay 30% of their income toward their rent, heat and utilities and the Department of Housing and Urban Development pays the balance through local Housing Agencies. Note: People living in special senior housing may be eligible for rent subsidies through the administrative offices of their buildings instead of the agencies listed above.
