Industry Proposes Regulatory Streamlining

On March 28, PHADA, NAHRO, CLPHA and the MTW Collaborative sent a letter to HUD Secretary Turner proposing specific regulatory actions HUD can take and should consider to reduce unnecessary regulations and improve program operations. This letter is one of several joint efforts by the four groups, including joint letters on the FY 25 Budget and supporting expansion of the original MTW Program. All of these actions grew out of the joint leadership meetings held in January and March of this year. The organizations continue to pursue collaborations and joint action going forward.

The Housing Authority of Columbus, GA

The Housing Authority of Columbus, GA, MercyMed and Columbia Residential gathered with community leaders, partners and residents this week to celebrate the grand opening of The Banks at Mill Village, the first phase of the Louis T. Chase Homes revitalization. Originally the former site of Louis T. Chase Homes, which included 108 units of public housing built in 1952 on the Chattahoochee River, Mill Village was awarded Low Income Housing Tax Credits in 2019 which enabled the new construction of 102 units of mixed income housing. The new mixed-income housing development, located at 120 20th Street was designed to complement the history of The Mill District, a Purpose Built Community designated in 2019.

The 2025 Annual Convention and Exhibition is scheduled for May 13-16, and will be held at the Hyatt Regency Seattle in Seattle, WA. EDEP courses will be held May 16-17.

2025 Legislative Forum

The 2025 Legislative Forum is scheduled for September 7-9, and will be held at the Royal Sonesta Capitol Hill in Washington, DC. EDEP courses to be held September 5-6.

JANUARY 04-07 2026

2026 Commissioners' Conference

The 2026 Commissioners' Conference is scheduled for January 4-7, and will be held at the Tampa Marriott Water Street in Tampa, FL. EDEP courses to be held January 3-4.
